What should I name my 8 week old black and tan german shepherd?
I usually live with my animals for a week until I get a feeling for their name. That time allows me to get to know their personalities and what name would best suite them.
Reply:King
Reply:Rex. I remember the austrian made police television drama, which was all about the german shepherd Rex.

Reply:I had my current dog about 2 weeks before I named her. This was so I could "feel" her temperment and personality. Years ago when I had my Sheperd I wanted something original. I was completely without an clue. Then I decided to name her the first word I pointed at. The closest word that could possibly be acceptable for a dogs name was with my third try... Saber

Reply:I would research for a german name or give it a day or two, he may do something or act a certain way that will give you an idea. I have kids, so we never had any trouble with names. We have a list made out for upcoming animals too.!! HAHAHA

Reply:German Shephards remind me of the police or the military so maybe something like General, Admiral, or Captain.
