Can you name some free translation sites for German?

I am in school at the moment and the ones i know are blocked. can you suggest a few and i will see if they work.

Can you name some free translation sites for German?
WWW.FREETRANSLATIONS.COM. Good for homework! :-D !!!

http://www.freetranslation.com/

i hope these help. gd luck. let me know how u get on.
Reply:the problem with online translations for English-German is that word by word (done by internet translators) does NOT equal meaning by meaning. You might want to stick to the old fashion way and do it yourself. You teacher will be able to tell the difference immediately.
Reply:They are blocked for a reason. They don't work anyway. Your teacher will be able to tell a mile off that it is not your work. Don't be so lazy, use a dictionary!
Reply:http://translation.paralink.com/

Good luck!
Reply:I like the dictionary site http://dict.leo.org/

This is NOT an "auto translator" where you plug in a paragraph and it spits out another paragraph. But if you enter a word, it does give you a list of different uses of it, and examples of the word used in a bunch of examples. And you can click on the speaker symbol and hear it pronounced, or click on the i for more information -- like to go to a site that has the verb conjugations.

Those auto-translator sites really do not work so well --at least if it is for more than individual words. Especially if you try a whole paragraph, anyone who knows German will know right away it came from an auto translator. (Just a warning , in CASE you're thinking of using it that way for translating something to turn in for school.)

EDIT: I just tested it out by putting my last paragraph in this answer into Babelfish and translating to German. It came out totally ridiculous!! It called it an "Automobile-Translator". And that is just for starters. Any teacher would have laughed.....and then failed me.
Reply:Have you tried bablefish Goodluck

"Ike` Blat" although the "ch" is more like "Kuh" with emphasis, almost like a tiny cough. Remember, German does not have a long vowel sound, so 'a' is short as in 'father'.

What is the name of the French defenses built along the German border prior to World War II?

It was built under the assumption that WWII would be fought like WWI, in the trenches.

What is the name of the French defenses built along the German border prior to World War II?
The Maginot Line (IPA: [ma蕭i'no], named after French minister of defence Andr茅 Maginot) was a line of concrete fortifications, tank obstacles, machine gun posts and other defenses which France constructed along its borders with Germany and with Italy in the wake of World War I.

What is the name of the most famous book in the German romantic literature?

"Faust 1" and "Werther" both belong to "Sturm und Drang", a movement considered to be a precursor of the proper Romantic period, which did officially not start until Novalis's "Blaue Blume" ( which nobody has ever read), in the 1790s.

The most famous "proper" book within Germany is probably E.Th. A. Hoffmann's "Der goldene Topf" or internationally his short novel "Der Nussknacker" (The Nutcracker) which was the inspiration for Tchaikovsky's famous ballet.

From the period, Wilhelm Busch's picture stories, especially "Max und Moritz", are still in print today, though they are not really "romantic" for the most part.

The Grimms' and Hauff's fairytales, and the poems of Heine, Moericke, Eichendorff and others are to this day more famous and well-loved than any novel of the time.

What is the name of the most famous book in the German romantic literature?
Would Goethe's Faust qualify?

Is the last name Kopowitz German or Russian?

According to www.ancestry.com it's Austrian, have a look at the link below.

http://www.ancestry.com/learn/facts/fact...

hope that helps.

Is the last name Kopowitz German or Russian?
Kopowitz is a Jewish name. If it were a Polish name, it would be spelled Kopowicz. It could be of Austrian or German origin.
Reply:Polish.
Reply:Ancestry.Com shows

Meier Kopowitz departed Dec. 21 1910 from Hamburg to Grimsby/Liverpool. Residence Minsk. Estimated birht date 1892

In the New York Passenger List a Mich Kopowitz arrived June 9, 1891. Left from Hamburg. Listed nationality as Austrian.

The 1920 census of Manhattan Assembly, New York District 20 has a family of 8 the parents and 2 of the sons born in Russia, the other 4 born in New York.

The same surname can come from many different nationalities. If this is your name or a name of one of your ancestors, the best thing to do is to trace your family, not your family name. Anytime you wish to do this, there are lots of people on this board that can give you some great ideas. Just ask.

Can the German government force an American citizen, moving there to change their last name?

I know of someone who just moved to Germany and said the German government told him that his last name was inappropriate and if he wanted to live there, he had to change it. He said he was given a list of last names deemed appropriate by the government and had to choose one. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I am finding it hard to believe. Thank you.

Can the German government force an American citizen, moving there to change their last name?
the german government can do anything they want in their country... just cause an american is moving there doesn't mean germany has to cater to them... if this american wants to live there then he/she has to follow the rules...
Reply:I guess I don't consider it 'catering.' I just can't believe that it is a 'rule' as you say. Report Abuse

Reply:Eudora - Yes, that is what we are thinking. Report Abuse

Reply:I'm from Germany, and honestly, I've never heard of anything like that before. There are a lot of immigrants in Germany from all over the world, mostly a lot of people from Turkey whose names are very hard to pronounce, and none of them has ever been told to change their name. As far as I know, this would be illegal to do anyway. The German government has no right to interfere with personal rights, and a person's name is part of it. Could it be that this person you heard this from was trying to fool you? This is more than absurd.
Reply:Just as the saying goes, When in Rome do what do Roman does.
Reply:Yes....it happened with my name here in America when my ancestors came here.....my real name is Volck. They said to change it to a more acceptable English version. They did.

Any government can do whatever they feel necessary for their people. If they want to.

After World War II, did the German government make it illegal to name new babies Adolph Hitler ?

You can name your son Adolf Hitler if you want in some parts of the country but you can not hyphen a last name. Germany has very strict naming policies and they very from place to place. When you name your child you must send in the name to the authorities to get it ok'd by the bureaucracy. If the name is turned down you can appeal.

After World War II, did the German government make it illegal to name new babies Adolph Hitler ?
wierd question. i dont think they banned it cuz the gov probably didnt think anyone was actually stupid enough to do that, you probably might be really looked down on by society. doubt that anyone would actually do that. if they are sane.
Reply:They didn't have to, who would be crazy enough to name their kid with a name that would make everyone hate them. It would be like what we are going to go through in the future. " May 24th, 2064 - A woman in North Carolina named her new born son George today. This is the first time the name has been given to a child since the removal and imprisonment of George W. Bush in 2007. She was pelted with rotten fruit and vegetables as she left the hospital."
Reply:I think so...
Reply:I don't think it's a law, but many people with that surname legally changed their last name, as they wanted not to be associated with that name whatsover.
Reply:That;s what my grandparents always told me, and they were over there when WW2 was going on.

What is the closest translation in German of the English name Curtis?

If you want one that SOUNDS similiar "Kurt" is clearly the way to go.

But that's not what you asked for. AndSince you ask for a German TRANSLATION of "Curtis" I'd have to disagree with others. "Kurt" is tempting, but mistaken. It has an entirely different origin and a different meaning

To clarify -- the name "Curt" in English is sometimes an adaptation of the German "Curt". But "Curtis" it not.

German "Kurt" is from "Conrad" -- derived from the Germanic elements kuon "bold" and rad "counsel, advice" and so meaning 'bold advisor.'

http://www.behindthename.com/php/view.ph...

http://www.behindthename.com/php/view.ph...

The name "Curtis" comes from a French form meaning "courteous" or better "courtly" (and ultimately goes back to Latin). In other words, not with the modern sense of "polite" but in the sense of "courtly" that is, "of the (royal) court." (For what it's worth, the Spanish version is "Cortez".)

http://www.behindthename.com/php/view.ph...

http://www.aboutnames.ch/HMC.htm#gnCurti...

I do not know of a German name with precisely this sense, certainly not as "member of the royal court." But if the name is meant to refer to the CHARACTER of the individual, something meaning "noble" might be a fairly close match.

Now old Germanic names of this sort most often compounds, with TWO pieces (called "dithematic"), so that you would not have a name with JUST the "noble" element. Rather it would appar in combination with another. A common Germanic element meaning "noble, honorable" is "Adal-". It appears alone as the German name "Etzel". But much more common are its uses in compound names like "Adalbert", its older form "Adalbrecht", or more modern "Albrecht" (which in older Enlish was 'Aethelbert" or "Ethelbert" and became "Albert"), meaning "bright nobility" ("beraht" is related to "bright", as you may be able to see). The root also appears in "Adolf" ("noble wolf").

Unless you want "Etzel", the closest match is probably Adalbert/Allbrecht. I'd recommend the latter form as in "Albrecht Duerer" the famous 16th century German painter.

It's an online radio station, it plays German music, and maybe Swiss too. It sounds something like para bala, but I don't remember anymore. It's a rock and techno station, I've heard oomph on there. If you remember the name, please tell me, thanks!

Need help finding a good German middle name?

I am looking for a middle name for a baby girl. It needs to be of German origins and start with B. Her first name will be Aryanna and last name Freemon.... can anyone help? *Not BERTHA either thanks.

Need help finding a good German middle name?
My middle name is German. I was named after my grandmother.

It is Brigitte (the pronounciation is up to you, brig-gitta, brig-getta, brig-eeta).

It's also the name of one of the children in the Sound of Music.

I need to know please the name of a dog breeder or kennel that has WHITE german shepherd puppies. I need to kn

I'm looking for a white german shepherd dog (also known a swiss shepherd dog). I've been looking for a puppy specifically and I have been going crazy trying to find a breeder. If anybody knows the name of a breeder in MIAMI or close to miami I would be really grateful if you would tell me.

I need to know please the name of a dog breeder or kennel that has WHITE german shepherd puppies. I need to kn
puppyfind.com
Reply:below are two White German Shepard Clubs that should be able to help you find a breeder. good luck
Reply:your only option is to adopt one from a shelter-

no reputable, responsible breeder will breed white GSD's.

so-sorry, the only "breeder" you will find one from is a byb.

you are better off rescuing one from a GSD rescue.
Reply:Hi have you seen www.rollingfarm.com they are advertising puppies for sale you could always have one flown to you if you arent close enough to go and get one. Both of my dogs have been flown in from different states
Reply:We got one from Animal Services, gorgeous female white shepherd - you can't show them, you know, but they are beautiful.

Try your local shelters.
Reply:I recommend you go to your local animal shelter and ask them if they have one or if they know if one of the animal foster homes or German Shepherd rescues have a white one. If you must have one from a breeder please contact AKC.org to get the name and phone number of a reputable breeder. Make sure you spade or neuter your dog if you are not going to show him in the conformation ring or if you don't know anything about breeding. The link above for the White German Shepherd is wrong the right link is below. I am not recommending you buy a puppy from any of the links I've listed. I am only answering your question.

Good Luck in finding that beautiful white puppy.
Reply:well first white german sheps are known as white german sheps, not swiss shepherd dogs, anyway, look on craigslist or kijiji.com, or the newspaper, or go to akc.org, contact a local german shepherd breeder near you and ask if they occasionally get white puppies, and see if they would be willing to sell u one, call every breeder in your area for a faster purchase, u would get it cheaper than a normal pup because they are not show quality, anyway, i like normal colored germans better anyway, why does it need to be white, a german is a german, they are greta dogs

wtf tards, im right, they arent "swiss shepherds" and they arent a recognized breed, IT'S a color!!!

Are there any famous German people with the name Josh or Joshua ?

I cannot seem to find anyone named joshua in German history does anyone know of a person who was famous in Germany and had the first name of joshua

Are there any famous German people with the name Josh or Joshua ?
No, because Josh or Joshua are not typical German Names.
Reply:Joschka isn't German neither. It's a nickname of Russian or Slavic descent. Apart from Joschka Fischer (whose real name is Josef Martin Fischer), you will hardly find any Joschkas.

The German equivalent to Joshua is Josua. But I don't know any famous Germans with that name.

Good luck with your new GSD pup.
Reply:They really aren't fully German, and never were shepherds. The true name of the breed is Alsatian (from the German part of Alsace/Lorraine on the French border), and they were bred to be guard and police dogs. Somehow, military names always do well:

Major, Trooper, Bullet, Sarge, are some I've seen.

Non-military? Fritz, Caesar, or any of a line of personal names.

Raise him well--they can be very playful and good with kids, despite their size.

What does "Leubner" a german name mean or if there are any german words similar tell me I need to know

I am pretty sure the name is referring to a geographical origin of the family. There are two towns called "Leuben" in Saxony, one in the district of Mei脽en, another one is now a suburb of Dresden. "Leubner" just means "someone from Leuben". The placename in its turn is of Slavic origin, originally "Luben", from Sorbian "luby"

meaning "dear".

What does "Leubner" a german name mean or if there are any german words similar tell me I need to know
Same goes for me....born and raised in Germany. The name "Leubner" doesn't mean or stand for anything.
Reply:I am German, grew up there. I don't know of any special meaning - just a name - and I don't know any similar german words. Sorry!
Reply:You can probably find your genealogy, but you might note that the spelling of your name has been Anglicized because the "-eu-" part should be a u with an umlaut, or two little dots above it. That character doesn't appear in English of course.

What is the best brand name of dog food to feed to a german shepherd dog?

Canidae is a good dog food, but my favorite is Innova Large dog food-it is more pricey than most foods but there is no soy, wheat gluten, or corn, or preservatives additives, fillers, or artifical cooring or flavoring-made of human food grade ingredients:)

What is the best brand name of dog food to feed to a german shepherd dog?
Innova Evo is really good food.
Reply:TIMBERWOLF ORGANICS - BEST!!!!

also CANIDAIE - very good
Reply:there is no such thing as best dog food, it depends on teh taste of your dog. however, the most balance diet i suggest are made by IAMS, HILLS and ROYAL, with each of these brands, they are integrated into special diet to suit the condition of your dog, eg: if concern with kidney function, there is a special diet for it (K/D in Hills), or with teeth (T/D) etc.

i know there are many ppl against these commerical diet, but when think about it, these companies have spend billions and billions of dollars in research and development for the best diet to ensure their sales, so the diet they come up with are pretty gd, and im not saying other company like Masterfood doesnt do a gd job, but the companies i mentioned specialised in making pet food.
Reply:Purina dog chow NOT WET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Reply:I have always had good luck with Purina O.N.E. dog food for my German Shepherds.
Reply:Innova EVO and Canidae are both excellent foods. Chicken Soup, Merrick, California Natural, Nature's Variety Raw Instincts, Wellness, Natural Balance, some of the Solid Gold line, etc are all good and are relatively low on grains. Purina, Pedigree, Science Diet, IAMS, Eukanuba, etc are not suitable foods as they have too many grains, by-products, mystery meats, etc.

Does my German wife have to change her last name on her passport to get into Germany?

She has a German issued passport.

Does my German wife have to change her last name on her passport to get into Germany?
No. She should be able to enter Germany on her German passport as it was issued.

There's no reason for any passport to need to be altered these days, since security is so tight. They'll be able to pull up her records regardless of her name.
Reply:change the last name ? not necessary.

she still can use her family lastname instead
Reply:If this is a recent marriage, she should bring along her marriage certificate when traveling. Once in Germany, she will need to get a new passport issued in her married name.

How did German Chocolate icing get it's name?

One day it was my fathers birthday, and my mom made him a German chocolate cake they said chocolate cake is the best when it has German chocolate icing on it so i asked why do they call it German chocolate icing if it doesn't have chocolate in it so now my dad made me do a paper on it.I don't want the answer to the cake just the icing.Thank-you

How did German Chocolate icing get it's name?
This cake was not actually invented by Germans. The original recipe was sent by a homemaker in Dallas in 1957 to a newspaper in Texas. It used Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate, which was created in 1852 by an Englishman named Sam German for the Baker's Chocolate brand.
Reply:I've heard the story, but I don't remember the details. All I know is it isn't from Germany like the name implies.
Reply:Look it up on the internet stupid
Reply:German Chocolate Cake is a chocolate cake made with German's Sweet Baking Chocolate. The package it comes in had the original recipe for both the cake and the icing on it years ago, so the icing got its name from the recipe. The recipe got its name from the brand of chocolate it was printed on.

I watched a movie in which german and ally soldiers are taken in and celebrate christmas together. Name?
There is a movie titled Joyeux No毛l, French for Merry Christmas in which German, French and Scots troops agreed to a cease fire so that they could celebrate Christmas day during World War I in 1914.

I highly recommend this movie.

That aside, I would suggest you find a name that most Americans will identify with as you are in America, not Germany. I understand that you are proud of your heritage, but keep in mind where you are.
Reply:Anything with the Name Kinder but don't use Kinder Care as it's already a very large daycare chain. I think you should stick to something American unless you are opening it up in a German village. You don't want people of other nationalities feeling like they can't bring their child there. Also, you want a name that lets people know what it is. Kinder Play, or Kinder Love, or Kinder Days, etc.

Is teddy a good name for a german shepard?
dpends! i mean wat does he look like or wat does he like to do, if he's fury or the exact opposite which will alos go ok. watever will be fine im sure!
Reply:Well, German Shepards are usually not very cuddly. I am not saying that they aren't good pets, but some are vicious (that's a good thing in some cases). Naming a vicious (not that I'm saying that yours is vicious) dog "Teddy" doesn't really fit.

I'm a U.S citizen and I have a child by a German citizen. How do i get my name on the birth certificate?

I'm in the military so i wasn't present at the time of birth, but I really need to obtain proof that she's my daughter to get her the benefits that she deserves. I'm engaged to the mother but until we get married I need this done ASAP. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I'm a U.S citizen and I have a child by a German citizen. How do i get my name on the birth certificate?
I am having the EXACT same problem. My problem is the Japanese wouldn't let me put my childs fathers name on the birth certificate since we weren't married and both foreigners. We are married now.

NOw it's caused a huge problem and we have had to hire a lawyer. We have to apply for a paper called American citizenship Certificate which costs $460. This will be his American birth certificate. We also have to apply for a American passport.

I don't know if I'm explaining this to you in a way you understand, but I can honestly say I don't even think my lawyer knows what she is doing...getting a DNA test is probably the smart thing to do and apply for sa AMerican passport along with a affidavate of support saying youa re the father. AT the passport website there's a form called Affidavate of support for PAternity.

Let me know if you find out a easier way to do it....
Reply:The mother should have given your name as the father and had it listed on the birth certificate when your daughter was born. You might be able to petition the hall of records for the city/town/jurisdiction where the baby was born to amend the birth certificate, or your attorney could handle it. You might need to prove paternity through DNA testing.

This is another reason to avoid having a child before marriage!
Reply:usually they ask the mother at the hospital who the father is???? there is a website I think its stategov.com that can give you all the info you need.their is also a paternity test that cost about $300.and they check your DNA

My German hallmate's family name is "Alt". What does "Alt" mean in the German langauge?

Also, can you recommend some good German pop/ rock / hip-hop music to me? thanks

My German hallmate's family name is "Alt". What does "Alt" mean in the German langauge?
"Alt" means "old", as has already been mentioned; in family names, it is often used to designate the family as "ancient residents" to a village, like in the names "Altbr盲u" (old brewer), "Altschmied" (old blacksmith), or "Altbauer" (old peasant).

The opposite of "alt" is "jung" (young).

I'd recommend you provide your old mate with some AC/DC; I live on the other side of the planet, and I adore them!
Reply:Alt means Old. Some good German rock would be Die Aertzte, Die Toten Hosen and Silbermond. Some good German pop would be Ich %26amp; Ich, Tokio Hotel, Cinema Bizzarre, Die Happy, Wir sind Helden, Kate %26amp; Ben and Die Prinzen. Good German hip-hop would be Fettes Brot, Bushido, D-Bo, Culcha Candela, and Scooter
Reply:yes alt=old

For German music i suggest you "Die Totenhosen" is kind of punkrock. I like them.

For metal you can listen to Rammstein.

Is Samson a good name for a male german shepherd?

hes coming home june 27th and i need to know if its a 'tough guy' name.

Is Samson a good name for a male german shepherd?
I absolutely love the name Samson for a dog. My grandma had a dog named Samson when I was little (although he was a Samoyed), and he was a sweet, adorable little guy.

Also, if you like Samson, then of course name your German Shepherd Samson. The only person who needs to like your dog's name is you (and perhaps the dog, of course). But, I personally find Samson to be an equally adorable and strong name (and just as a side-note, Samson was a male character in the Bible who was known for having extraordinary strength, so I find this name very fitting for a German Shepherd).

Enjoy your new puppy - dogs make wonderful companions.

Best wishes!
Reply:Yeah its a tough guy name, but I have found the best way to name a dog is to pick out several that you like then call the dog by each name and see how he responds to each. Often times they will respond more to some than others as if they already have a name. I was originally going to name my boxer Duke but then someone said the name Jake and he got all excited so thats what we named him.
Reply:Personally, I would give the name Samson to a Yellow Lab.

IMO it doesn't suit a GSD.

But if you like it, then name him that!
Reply:It's up to you. If your like it, than it works. I think it's a nice, strong %26amp; noble name for a german shepherd!
Reply:Yes. That is actually my brothers dogs name. But Im ot sure what type a dog it is. How is your softball going? This is mzraemo. Ur contacts.

Reply:I like it. Good luck with your puppy when he comes!
Reply:if you like the name then that is all that matters.
Reply:Jake Kato Sumo Dude ... ehh those are some tough guy names i can think of....

Name, please-german officer, plane to England to talk Churchill into surrender?

Rudolph Hess

Name, please-german officer, plane to England to talk Churchill into surrender?
Hitler's 3rd in command Rudolph Hess parachuted into Scotland to meet with the Duke of Hamilton in the false belief that the Duke could arrange a meeting with Churchill to discuss a TRUCE, not a surrender. Germany would give back all that was conquered but remain as a police presence and in return Great Britain was to join Germany in defeating Russia...Hitler was furious and branded Hess a traitor and lunatic, the British thought he was also quite insane...He died in Spandau Prison in 1987 of a supposed suicide. BTW...The plane itself was a Messerschmitt Bf110...

I want to know the name of a beer brand. It's sounds german and has a woman on the label. Any ideas?

Alright, this definitely is not a dire question but I'm curious. I had it [the brand of beer] once and now I can't remember the name. It has something in it like pfleger and has a woman on the label (I think she was native american but it could have also been a pilgrim - - one of the two). And if memory serves me correctly the label was yellow. Anyone know? The answer would just give me peace of mind.

What was the name of the German jewish prophet who escaped to Russia during Hitler's regime?

You may be referring to Ze'ev (Vladimir) Jabotinsky.

Actually, he was born in Ukraine, though his life had many German influences.

He preached throughout Europe and Asia Minor for establishment of a Jewish homeland -

As early as 1933, he understood the danger of German national-socialism to the Jewish people and warned people to get out of Germany. He also called for a Jewish-led boycott of Germany.

So any website or book that you find with baby names should also have some names you would never use for a kid, but maybe would make a great name for a dog.

I have owned and trained GSP's for 6 years, mostly through rescue. They are a fantastic breed, if you can make it through the puppy stage.

How to write my last name in German?

I really want to get my last name tattooed to myself and I also really want it to be wrote in German and I don't do that. The last name is German and it's Dannhardt. If anyone can please reply. Thanks!!

How to write my last name in German?
If the old German letters are meant I would suggest the use of "Fraktur" instead of "Suetterlin"

Fraktur was used for printed items (books etc) while S眉tterlin (also known as Kurrent) was only used for handwriting.

Fraktur is much easier to read and maybe exactly what you are looking for.

Here a link how it looks like:

http://homepage.univie.ac.at/walter.diet...

(the page is in German)

Here a link to a site where you can download the font for use with your computer - and also some more explanations (in English)

http://www.morscher.com/3r/fonts/fraktur...
Reply:Why would it be any different in German if it's a German name in the first place?

German usually takes names in foreign languages as they are anyway, unless they are originally written in another alphabet.

"Dann" is from "Tanne" (spruce) and "Hardt" is an old word for mountain or big hill (Berg).
Reply:If your last name is already German, then you don't need to change it, it already is. You could try and find a German-type looking font. The alphabet is the same in German as English, but they use umlauts and other accents on some of their letters to denote pronunciation.

You may want to explore your family tree to see if there are any other variations of spellings.
Reply:I think you are talking about Suetterlin writing, which is not taught in German schools anymore. But I know my mother and father still learned it in school, and my grandparents certainly did write in Suetterlin. I found a website for you where you just have to type in your last name, and it gives you the Suetterlin script of your name. Sorry, I cannot paste it into this field. Good luck with your tat.

Reply:Ich HeiBe Dannhardt.

sorry, I have an english keyboard but that says my name is dannhardt, kinda.

edit for an idiot:

actually they use have one letter that is different than the english alphabet in german its a "heise" it looks like a "B" so I'm right and yr wrong guy that answered after me... yr not as smart as you think you are. they also have an umlout (sp?) which is the lil dots that go over u's and e' and o's sometimes to change pronouciation.
Reply:LOL, they dont exactly use the Arabic or Chinese alphabet in Germany. They use the Western alphabet. Its the exact same thing, the name itself is already German. So its not going to be real exotic looking or anything.
Reply:umm germans use the exact same letters as in english.. if your last name is german, what exactly needs to be changed... its just ' dannhardt ' ..
Reply:Its just "Dannhardt" Because Germans use the exact same letters as in English, and your last name is German.
Reply:Can't get any more German than it is already - don't you just love the oh so German TD at the end?????
Reply:Well, that would be... Dannhardt.

German writes with the same alphabet we do. :)
Reply:names stay the same in all languages.
Reply:it would be ... Smith
