How do I pronounce this German name?
frahnts pfn眉r

眉 = shape your mouth to say O but then try to say the letter E

EDIT: NO, I did not. No need for thumbs down.

脰 sounds like the O in "word". You get an 脺 when you do what I said (which you would know if you had simply tried what I wrote above). I am German and you are not, so I would know, wouldn't I?

EDIT2: I have no accent. Making an O mouth and saying the English letter E produces an 脺, I couldn't form that into an 脰 if I tried. No idea what your issue is.
Reply:Correction, Sedora: the 眉 is what you get when your lips are in the position to say "oo" (IPA [u])while your tongue tries to say "ee" (IPA[i]). You described the pronunciation of 枚.

All I can do is report on the pronunciation of Hochdeutsch, which is what they teach us foreigners. Your particular accent might well mutate 眉 into 枚 at times, for all I know, in which case we are both correct.
Reply:It sounds exactly like it is spelt. Here listen I'll say it right now....

Did you hear that?

I'll say it one more time...

There.
