Is Muddy a good name for a German Shorthaired Pointer?

My German Short haired Pointer is currently one year old. At the beginning we wanted to name him Charlie or Twister. But instead of those we named him Muddy. Partly because his registered name is Cold water's mudslide and he has blotches of brown all over him. Do you think we should gave stuck with one of the other names?





Oh and regardless of what happens his name will forever remain Muddy-I don't want to confuse him.

I've never heard of naming a dog Muddy, but that's very cute!





With what you say about the brown blotches, it should work out perfectly for him. Charlie might have been fitting too, but I see a lot of dogs named Charlie. I love how Muddy is so original!

Reply:You should keep the name you gave him if he already answers to it, You are the owner so if Muddy is the name you finally liked then that it shall be (as you stated). The dog actually responds to your voice calling whatever name you choose. It is you who has to feel comfortable calling him in public since we both know that he will never be able to pronounce, bark or tell his friends that you named him Muddy.

Reply:dogs name themselves by their personality. I had a new dog that a girl tried to name clover. but I preferred Shamrock and that's the name he came to, so it stuck. And we were both comfortable with it.
