Is GRAMLICH a German name, or is it Jewish? Can it be both?

I'm researching the surname of GRAMLICH and found origins in Germany, but know nothing of geology or even history for that matter and would like to know the origin of the name.

Is GRAMLICH a German name, or is it Jewish? Can it be both?
I do believe there have been, in the past, lots of German Jews. Read something about WWII.

Besides, even though many people view Jews as a race or nationality unto themselves, it is really a religion. Being German is not. So I would say that, yes, it is possible to be German and a Jew.
Reply:Well that kinda depends if you think Jews can be German. Hitler rather thought not. Many reasonable people do not share his views.
Reply:I am german and i believe gramlich could be german or jewish, to find out got to.... If this doesnt help, than just try to find a general site for german genealogy or jewish genealogy. Good Luck !!
