What is the correct name for old german lettering?

It's bad to say, but most of the examples I've seen were from the Nazi era, although they were not conceived by them and are still widely used in germany both before the 1930/40's and still used today. Similar to old english script but the german style. I've seen them called German Gothic, and Black Text, but image searches for examples end up with several different styles of script.

What is the correct name for old german lettering?
Fraktur
