How do you pronounce the German name "Traugott"?

And is it ever used as a last name or just a first name?

How do you pronounce the German name "Traugott"?
t-r-o--g-o-t

its a last name
Reply:It's pronounced Trow (as in "wow") - gott. It's an old-fashioned first name for a man. It can also be a last name.
Reply:well... I don't know this name, but the pronountiation is not the english one.you have to spell it the way you see it. which means ---%26gt; t-r-a(like aaaaaaah!!)- u(like muuuuuuuuuh)-g-o(like ox)-t(you pronounce only one but big -t-)
Reply:i dunno what its used as but id think its pronounced as its spelt..

tr- (as in TR from Train)

a- as in (aa-- when you open your mouth wide)

u (as in U in Put)

and gott as in got but with an emphasis on t..

as in t in the short form Matt from the name matthew.

hope that helps
Reply:trow-got
